My Two Kindles and Why I Love Them

I had an older version of a Kindle a few years ago, I loved it, but when it broke I went to my phone and ipad for reading ebooks. It has worked well the last few years. I would use my ipad at home for reading ebooks and my phone when I wanted to read other places.

However, last year that didn’t work so well. Not at all actually. Mainly because of my eyes and that problem of our eyes and getting old…

For just quickly checking email or social media, it works great, but when it comes to reading for any length of time, like reading ebooks, I have problems.

I get a headache when reading on my phone because the print is so small. One of the ways I read so much is because I read while at doctors appointments, waiting at music lessons, etc., so I was not ready to give up my ebook reading. I just needed to find a different way to read them.

So I bought a Kindle Fire when Amazon ran them on sale last spring and I love it!! When Amazon ran the Kindle Paperwhite on sale at the end of the year I ended up buying one as well. (They are currently having another sale on the Paperwhite.)

So, yes I now own two Kindles. One I keep in my purse so that I have a book at all times. The other one I keep in my bedroom for reading at night. I really didn’t need two except I kept taking the one out of my purse to read at home and then I would forget to put it back in my purse. I would then get somewhere and want to read only to discover that I didn’t have it with me. Two ends up working better.

My kids also have Kindles and love them. My son and daughter do way more reading since having Kindles. They both have the Kindle Fire and love them. The Fire works great for trips because they can watch movies on them as well.

I think in total our family has six Kindles now and we love them all.

Right now Amazon has a great deal on both the Kindle Fire and the Paperwhite. It is not as good of a deal as they ran at the holidays, but if you missed that deal or need a Kindle for a gift it is a great deal now through February 14th.
