Book Review of
Lessons From A Hospital Bed
Lynn's Review
Lessons From A Hospital Bed by John Piper is a Christian nonfiction book.
I have mixed thoughts on John Piper’s books that I have read. Some I have liked and others have not been my favorite. I was given Lessons From A Hospital bed and decided it was a good time to read it.
I have not been hospitalized recently, but I have dealt with a lot of health problems in the last few years. I knew the principles in this book would apply to health issues as well as hospital stays.
Lessons From A Hospital Bed is more of a booklet than a book, but since I read it I added it to my list of books read.
John Piper wrote part of this book after being hospitalized and after reflecting on sickness and suffering. I enjoyed this book. It was the right book at the right time. It wasn’t really anything new to me, but it was a great reminder.
Sickness is part of life. We will all endure it at some point. How we react to our sickness says a lot about who we are.
Our attitude during sicknesses, hospital stays, and even through the deaths of those we love, can be a big testimony to others. Do we reflect Christ in those situations, or are we bitter about the difficult times that we go through?
I plan to buy several of these books to keep on hand when I know someone going through a sickness or hospital stay.
