Book Review of
Nora Goes Off Script
Lynn's Review

Nora Goes Off Script by Annabel Monaghan is a from com published in 2022.
I have heard so many great things about Annabel Monaghan’s books that I finally decided to try one.
Nora is a screenwriter who usually follows a formula when it comes to writing, but after her husband leaves her and her kids, she turns her new script into the best she has written.
The film crew comes to her home to film parts of the movie. Along with them comes the star of the movie, Leo Vance.
After the movie is finished filming, Leo offers Nora a thousand dollars a day to stay for an extra week.
Will Nora find love or heartbreak?
Amazon considers Nora Goes Off Script a contemporary women’s fiction book and a contemporary romance book. It fits those categories, but I would also say it is a rom-com. I thought it was a rom-com until I looked it up on Amazon.
I enjoyed this book because it felt different from many other rom-coms I have read. It has depth, and the ending totally took me by surprise. I knew they would get together, but I did not see how it would happen.
I like this book enough that I will read more by Annabel Monaghan. However, they are a little more open door or PG-13 than I like. I have seen Annable Monaghan on several clean romance or closed door romance books. I would not consider Nora Goes Off Script to be clean or closed door.
When I was telling a friend about this book because I thought she might like it, I told her I would describe it as a cracked door. It is not completely closed, but I also would not consider it open. I want to read at least one more to see if all her books are like this. If you prefer clean fiction only, this might not be the book for you.
