Grace's Review

The Princess Diaries

The Princess Diaries is not a typical read for me. I read it because I wanted to do a book vs movie post especially since I watched and enjoyed the movie. I want to say that I did not enjoy the book that much. It was okay. It was very cheesy and had a lot of stuff in it that I thought was not necessary. This is probably because it is a dairy written by a teenage girl, Mia. There was a lot of stuff about kissing, boyfriends, Mia was born out of wedlock, Mia’s mom’s dated, her dad had cancer, which caused him to be unable to have kids, and so on. This caused me to like it less. I felt like some of it could have been left out, but in the end, it was a story about a girl who learns she’s a princess and has to figure out how to deal with it. I would not recommend this for a tween, but maybe a teenager. Even during my tween and teen years I was not a big reader of books like this. It just isn’t my type of book, which may be why I liked it even less.
