Come from Away by Genevieve Graham was published in 2022.

Genevieve Graham writes historical fiction set in Canada. Comes From Away is set in 1939 Novia Scotia. Grace feels useless and left behind when her three brothers go to fight in the war. 

However, she works at home, keeping the local general store open. This is essential work, even if it doesn’t feel that way. 

While attending a local dance, she meets a stranger she can’t forget. It turns out he is from the German U-boats that have been in the deep waters along the shores. 

This book is about Canada during WWII. I have read many WWII books, but not many about Canada during the war. That is why I love Genevieve Graham’s books. She brings Canadian history alive in her books. 

Her writing about Canadian History is excellent. If you like historical fiction and want to read more about Canada, I highly recommend Genevieve Graham’s book. 

I will say that although I enjoyed this book, it wasn’t my favorite of her books.
