October Reads 2024

I am sharing my October reads, and October will probably be my worst reading month of 2024.

That is okay, though, because some months and seasons are like that.

Books read in October 2024

I ended up reading only four books. I know for some four is a great number to read in one month, but for me it is about half what I usually read.

October was a busy month for me and there just wasn’t a lot of time to fit in reading. When I did have time to read, my brain was too tired to focus.

I also started and stopped a lot of books in October. Not all of them were do not finish books for me. Most of them were more like not the right book for right now type of reads.

Hopefully, my reading will pick up in November.

What I feel like I need right now is a can’t put it down nonfiction book. I read two great nonfiction books in October, but I want a page turning nonfiction read. Do you have any suggestions for me?

September Reading

I am sharing a few thoughts on each book. For a full review and more information, click on the title, which will take you to my full review.

Fiction

A Trick of Light

A Trick of Light by Louise Penny. Book seven in the Three Pines Inspector Gamache series was not my favorite book in the series, but it was still a great book. Louise Penny’s writing continues to amaze me.

The December Market book review

The December Market by RaeThayne. It’s a quick, easy, very predictable Christmas read.

Nonfiction

Be Ready When the Luck Happens book

Be Ready When Luck Happens by Ina Garten. I love food and cooking. I also love to read memoirs, so I really enjoyed Ina Garten’s new memoir.

Christian Nonfiction

Aging With Grace

Aging With Grace by Sharon W. Better and Susan Hunt. It is a book full of great reminders of the importance of Christians aging gracefully.

  1. Some months are more productive than others, right?

A nonfiction page turner that I read in October was “A Fatal Inheritance: How a Family Misfortune Revealed a Deadly Medical Mystery” by Lawrence Ingrassia. It tells the story of several families, including the author’s, along with doctors and researchers as they seek to find the cause of high rates of cancer within these families. I found the writing to be very engaging and it was a book I didn’t want to put down.
