16 Lighthouse Road book

16 Lighthouse Road by Debbie Macomber is book one in the Cedar Cove series.

Several years ago, I think, in 2020, I watched the Hallmark series Cedar Cove. The series was fine, but once I knew it was based on a book series, I knew I wanted to read it. I finally picked up book one.

16 Lighthouse Road and the whole Cedar Cove series are set in a small coastal town near Seatttle, Washington. The Pacific Northwest setting is why I was drawn to this book. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and love books set there.

This book follows Judge Olivia Lockheart and her family and friends.

This book is about real life. Marriages, divorces, births, and deaths, all while living in a small coastal community.

I love the realness of Debbie Macomber’s writing in this book. This is the kind of romance book that I like. A love story with some depth.

This book was a great pick-up when I was recently sick. It was quick and easy to read, but it wasn’t cheesy like a lot of romance books.

I loved it so much that I started book two right away. However, book two was a little too PG-13 for me. It wasn’t bad, but it was enough that I thought it took away from the storyline.

However, I know that I am in the minority in this because Debbie Macomber fans love this book.
