Book Review of
Alaskan Holiday
Lynn's Review
Alaskan Holiday by Debbie Macomber was published in 2018.
In Alaskan Holiday, Josie, a chef from Seattle takes a job in Alaska for the summer where she meets Palmer. At the end of summer, Josie has to go back to Seattle, but that means leaving Palmer and Alaska behind.
This is my fourth Christmas book for November. I have been working on a Christmas book list and I was sick for a week this month. That combination meant that I could work, as in reading, when I was sick.
I think I might be done with Christmas fiction for the year though. I might read one closer to Christmas but I have had enough Christmas books for now. I like Christmas books that read like Hallmark movies, but after three or four a year, I am usually ready to move on to books with more substance.
I have mixed thoughts on Debbie Macomber. So many people love her books and I can see why. However, they tend to be a little too sweet and have endings that are a little too perfect for me.
I like books that read like a Hallmark Christmas movie, but I find most of Debbie Macomber’s books to be even more perfectly happy than a Hallmark movie.
That being said, this was a cute book. Unrealistic and totally predictable, but cute.
