Book Review of
Catching Christmas
Lynn's Review
Catching Christmas by Terri Blackstock is a backlist Christian Christmas book.
Terri Blackstock is known for her Christian thrillers and mysteries, so I wasn’t aware that she had written a Christmas book until recently. I have never read a Terri Blackstock book because I don’t typically read many thrillers, but I am always on the lookout for new Christmas books to read, so I decided to give it a try.
Catching Christmas is a way backlist book. It was published in 2016. I listened to the audiobooks of this and really enjoyed it.
Sydney is a lawyer who works long hours for a law practice that is laying people off. She is also trying to reconnect with her grandmother, Miss Callie.
Finn is a chef who now drives a cab. After giving Miss Callie a cab ride, she reminds Finn of his own mom.
Through Miss Callie Finn, Sydney connects and realizes the true meaning of family, friendship, and Christmas.
This is one of the best Christmas books I have read in a while. It had depth and moral lessons that you often don’t find in modern Christmas books. This book has now got me looking for more backlist Christmas books, as I want more Christmas books that read like realistic stories.
