Grace's Review
Okinawa was a good quick World War II read about the battle and fights in the pacific. I felt like it wasn’t the best written and was missing some stuff. I think a part of me did not like the written because it does feel like a journalist wrote it.
However, it was a good reminder about it, and since Leckie was a marine and Pacific War Veteran, it is a good first hand thought on it and also interpretations of other people’s thoughts. I really did love Leckie’s memoir, which is why I got this used. However, I would suggest reading his memoir over this one.
