Book Review of
People Pleaser
Lynn's Review

People Pleaser by Jinger Duggar Vuolo was published in 2025.
Many of us are people pleasers. We all too often have the desire to please others. We want to live by the rules. Living like that often brings on anxiety and fear.
People Pleaser is Jinger’s story of trying to overcome being a people pleaser. I say overcome because, to some point, as humans, we will never be free from people pleasing.
I read Jinger’s book Becoming Free Indeed and enjoyed it. People Pleaser was a good follow-up to Becoming Free Indeed.
I am a people pleaser and often struggle with what others think of me.
I wish I had read a book like this twenty years ago in my twenties.
This book would be good for young adults who often struggle with people pleasing. I also think this would be an excellent read for those who have come out of a legalistic Christian background.
This book is not profound theology. It is Jinger sharing her story. It is also written in a more modern style, which not everyone loves. I don’t always love that writing style, but I think it works fine in this book.
