The Christmas Pearl book

The Christmas Pearl by Dorothea Benton Frank was published in 2009. It is Christmas fiction.

This is the first Dorothea Benton Frank book that I have read. I was researching Christmas books for a project, and The Christmas Pearl kept showing up, so I decided to try it.

Ninety-three-year-old Theodora lives with her daughter and family in the same house she grew up in.

She longs for Christmas like she grew up having, but her family is not getting along, and has more modern ideas of what Christmas should be like.

Someone comes back from Theodora’s past to help bring Christmas back to what it should be.

I liked this book. I can see why so many people love it. To me it had a very 2009 feel. Not that in a bad way, just in a way that it wouldn’t be written like this today.

I know why people like this book. It was a sweet holiday read and a reminder about family and the holidays.

This book has definitely made me interested in reading more by Dorothea Benton Frank.
