The Secret Lives of Booksellers and Librarians by James Patterson was published in 2024. It is categorized as a biography, but it is really more of a book of short essays from various booksellers and librarians about their lives and the importance of books.

I wanted to read this book because it was about books. I also like to read essay-style books like this in the evenings before bed. 

Each chapter in this book is a short story or essay written by a bookseller or librarian. It is a book that talks about a love of reading and books. 

Like most essay and short story books, I liked about half the stories in this book. 

I found many of the stories fun and inspirational. They shared how they are helping people who love reading anymore. 

Some of the chapters were just too political for me. I can get those stories from the headlines and news reports. I know others will enjoy those stories, but it wasn’t what I expected from this book.
