Book Review of
The Twelve Dogs of Christmas
Lynn's Review
The Twelve Dogs of Christmas by Susan Wiggs was published in 2023. As you can probably tell by the title this book is a Christmas fiction book.
I bought this book for my oldest daughter. She reads mainly nonfiction but does read some fiction.
She loves Christmas and I know she often reads a couple of holiday books on her time off during Thanksgiving and Christmas. She also loves dogs, so when I saw The Twelve Dogs of Christmas, I knew it would be the perfect book for her.
And then I couldn’t resist and picked it up to read before giving it to her.
Brenda, a Christmas-hating single woman, currently living in Texas, gets talked into driving to New York to deliver twelve dogs that are being adopted.
After an accident, she meets Adam, a paramedic, and single dad, who is adopting one of the dogs.
And since it is a Christmas book, it happens at Christmas time.
Is this book unrealistic and a bit cheesy? Yes. But it is also a fun light-hearted Christmas romance read.
If you love Hallmark Christmas movies, I think you will enjoy this one. I will say that it is a little more PG-13 in spots than a Hallmark movie.
