Book Review of
The Vicious Vet
Lynn's Review
The Vicious Vet by M.C. Beaton was published in 1993. It is the second book in the Agatha Raisin Mysteries.
I would consider this a cozy mystery series, but I am not sure that it technically fits a cozy mystery.
The Vicious Vet is set in an English village where Agatha retired for a quiet life in the country. However, life in the country is not all that quiet. These books were written in the 1990s and they are set in that time period, or at least a more modern time period.
I enjoyed book one in this series. I liked book two but did not love it. This is a fun series that I can see myself occasionally reading, but I think I prefer mysteries set in the early 1900s or before. There is something about a more modern setting for mysteries that I do not enjoy as much.
I also did not love Agatha as much in this book. I just found her and some of her behavior hard to like. However, I will probably give book three a try at some point.
If you love mysteries you might give this series to give a try.
