A Match In the Making

A Match In the Making by Jen Turano was published in 2023. It is a Christian Historical Romance.

If you enjoy clean romance books I think you will love this one. It is a Hallmark movie in book form. It is listed as a Christian Historical Romance, but I didn’t think that it was overly Christian.

This book is listed as a historical romance, but to me, it felt a bit like a rom-com that was set in the Gilded Age. There was definitely comedy mixed in with the romance. A Match In the Making was also totally unrealistic. Yet, at the same time, it was a fun read.

Gwendolyn Brinley wanted a quiet summer season in Newport. Instead, she spends the summer busy among the wealthy families that spend their summers in Newport, as an assistant matchmaker. Yes, a matchmaker.

Wealthy families hire her to find a match for their daughters. She is good at matchmaking but, will she be able to find Walter Townsend a wife, who will also be a mother to his children?

This book is part romance, part comedy, and a nice quick and easy read.
