My son read and loved Hatchet by Gary Paulsen when he was about thirteen and loved it. He then went on to read several other Gary Paulsen books.
I had never read a Gary Paulsen book until last year. On a road trip my son and I listen to Gary Paulsen’s memoir Gone To the Woods. After listening to it on audio I knew that I wanted to read Hatchet.
I listen to Hatchet on audio and enjoyed it. I now see why so many boys and teens love this adventure story. This book is about survival, betrayal, doubt, self-pity, fears, wild animals, and so much more.
