My Lucky Charm book review

My Lucky Charm by Courtney Walsh is a clean romance book published in 2024.

My Lucky Charm is book two in the Holidays with Hart series, a three-book series about the Hart sisters. Book one, My Phony Valentine, follows Poppy, and book two follows Poppy’s sister, Eloise.

Eloise, who recently lost her job, has a chance to take a job as an assistant to Grayson, a star hockey player. Eloise needs the work, and Grayson needs to improve his attitude and image.

Eloise loves people. She loves to talk and is everybody’s friend. Grayson lives for hockey. It is his life, and he focuses entirely on it. They are complete opposites, but as we know, opposites attract, especially in the book and movie world.

This book continues the hockey theme of book one, but it has more depth than book one because it deals with some real-life issues that make it a little more believable. It is not quite the Hallmark movie that the first book was.

I enjoyed this quick, fun read, but I wish it had more depth. After finishing this book, I was reminded why I don’t read a lot of romance. I want more depth in my books. I want them to teach me something, make me think. This book didn’t do that.

Courtney Walsh has changed the way she writes. While many people love these quick and easy romance books, I prefer her older books, which have more depth and real life.
