Book Review of
One Two Buckle My Shoe
Lynn's Review
One Two Buckle My Shoe by Agatha Christie was published in 1940.
In One Two Buckle My Shoe, Hercule Poirot visits the dentist. While there, he notices peculiar things about the other patients. Shortly after he leaves his appointment, a murder occurs. Poirot is on the case.
This was one of the books that I took with me on a recent trip to Missouri. We stayed in a cabin in the Ozarks for a few days, and I thought it would be a great time to read an Agatha Christie book.
I love Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot books. I enjoyed this one, but it wasn’t my favorite. Reading Agatha Christie’s description of a dental office and a dental appointment was interesting. It is very different than what we know today, so the look back in time was fun.
I didn’t guess who the murderer was until the end of the book, which, to me, is a sign of a good mystery book. However, there was something about the characters in this one that I didn’t love. That will be the case with a series as long as the Hercule Poirot series. I will love some books more than others.
If you love Agatha Christie’s books, I would love to hear what you think of this one. If you have never read Agatha Christie, this is probably not what I would start with. I would recommend one of her better known books for your first one.
