Rogues book review

Rogues: True Stories of Grifters, Killers, Rebels, and Crooks by Patrick Radden Keefe.

My husband and I both loved Empire of Pain by Patrick Radden Keefe. My husband has also read a couple of his other books. So when I saw that he had a new book, I knew I wanted to read it.

Rogues has a totally different style in that it is a book full of short stories and articles about various people. This style makes it easy to pick up and down, although some of the chapters are quite long.

The range of people that he covered in this book is wide. Everyone from a criminal to a chef to a Hollywood producer. I can see why so many people loved this book, but it wasn’t my favorite. I think it was the style of the book.

I prefer a whole story on a person, not just a ten or twenty page bio. Some of the people he covered I found fascinating. Others I struggled to get through. Although I didn’t love this book, I am guessing that my husband will. Overall I would consider this a three star read for me.
