Book Review of
Still Life
Lynn's Review
Still Life by Louise Penny is the first Louise Penny book that I have read. I know. I know. This was published in 2005 and I am just now reading it.
In 2005 I had three little kids, and my reading time was limited and I had no clue what books everyone was reading.
I also don’t think I would have appreciated this book or enjoyed it as much back then. My love of mystery books has grown over the years. Quite a few people have told me that I needed to read this series because I love cozy-type mysteries. I picked this up on vacation in July to read, but then wasn’t in the mood to read it.
I picked it up again recently and read it in two days. I now see why people love this series.
There were a couple things in the book I didn’t enjoy, but I have heard the series get better and better with each book. I can’t wait to read more in this series. I think I will get the next book or two in the series to read this fall and winter, but then I will probably take a break and spread the series out. This series seems like the perfect fall reads.
Since there are so many in the series I could easily stretch it out by reading just one or two a year.
