Book Review of
The Bookshop On the Shore
Lynn's Review
The Bookshop on the Shore is book two in the Scottish Bookshop series, published in 2019. I read book one, The Bookshop on the Corner, first, but I don’t think you have to. I actually enjoyed The Bookshop on the Shore better than the first book.
Zoe, a single mom, escapes London to start a new life with her son in the Scottish Highlands. She gets a job as a part-time book seller and a part time taking care of the kids at a local estate.
The estate is grand, but falling apart. The kid’s single dad is a mess, and the kids are out of control and got kicked out of school.
Her job as a bookseller gets off to a rough start when the owner is hospitalized.
Can Zoe make her home in this new community work?
If you enjoy Jenny Colgan, I think you will like this one.
