Where Trees Touch the Sky

Where Trees Touch the Sky by Karen Barnett is a Christian historical fiction book published in 2024.

Where Trees Touch the Sky is a dual-timeline historical fiction book set in the California Redwoods.

In the 1920s, Marion Baker, a nurse who loves California’s giant redwoods, meets Frank Duncan, the son of the area’s worst timber baron.

The second timeline is 1972, when Marion’s niece, June, heads to California to work as a park ranger in the newly established Redwood National Park. She wants to honor her brother while proving she can do the job despite her disability. She meets Adam, a film student who is trying to earn money over the summer.

Karen Barnett has become a must-buy author for me. When she releases a new book set in a National Park, I know I will enjoy it.

Karen Barnett is a former national park ranger. She understands the history and workings of the National Park system.

Her love of nature also shines through in her National Parks books. She describes the parks so well.

Her books contain some romance, but they are so full of history and nature that romance is not the main focus.

These books are considered Christian historical fiction, but anyone who likes clean fiction will enjoy them. They are Christian, and faith is mentioned in the book, but it is not a big focus.

If you like clean fiction or have a teen who does, you might enjoy this one.
