Devotion book

Nonfiction

Devotion by Adam Makos. This is one of my family’s all time favorite nonfiction books. It is a Korean War story of heroism, friendship, and sacrifice.

Seasons of Sorrow by Tim Challies. This will make my list of favorite books this year. I featured it for one of my Sunday Reading posts.

Seasons of Sorrow book by Tim Challies

Elizabeth the Queen by Sally Bedall Smith. I read this book several years ago when Queen Elizabeth was still alive. I enjoyed it, especially the first half, where it is about her childhood and early years of marriage.

The Devil In the White City by Erik Larson. Both my husband and I really enjoyed this book of murder, medicine, architecture, and The World’s Fair.

Educated by Tara Westover. This is a memoir that you won’t forget. It is such a crazy story that it is hard to belive it is true, but it is true.

Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. If you have not read this WWII story it is a must read. It is one of my all time favorite books.

The Spy and the Traitor by Ben Macintyre. This is narrative nonfiction at its best. Russia, Britain, and The U.S. during the cold war with spies, double agents, the KGB, MI6, and the CIA makes for a book that you can’t put down.

The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom. I have read this WWII memoir at least three times over the years. The first time was when I was a teenager. If you have not read this one, I highly recommend it.

Becoming Free Indeed by Jinger Duggar Vuolo. This was such a well written memoir. I have recommend this one to so many people.

When Strivings Cease by Ruth Chou Simmons. This is another book that I featured for Sunday Reading. It is a one that I really enjoyed.

Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly. A great book for those who love books about science. Grace read this several years ago and enjoyed it.

The Other Wes Moore by Wes Moore. I read this for my Books for Every State challenge and really enjoyed it. The book alternates between two kids/men named Wes Moore who were born blocks apart, yet their lives took very different paths.

West With Giraffes book review

Fiction

West with Giraffes by Lynda Rutledge. I had no idea that I would enjoy a book about giraffes and The Great Depression so much. This is based on a true story and was such a fun read.

The Nightengale by Kristin Hannah. I read this WWII historical fiction book several years ago. It is one of those books that you will be thinking about for a long time.

Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate. Based on a true story this book is so good, but is such a sad part of American history. This would make a great gift for someone that loves historical fiction.

The Four Winds book

Four Winds by Kristin Hannah. This is a book that it seems you either love or hate. I loved it. It is about The Great Depression. It isn’t an easy read, but it is history. It is also a great price.

The Man Who Died Twice by Richard Osman. I love this mystery series. This is the second book in the series, but it is a great price.

The Tattooist Of Auschwitz by Heather Morris. Based on a true story this is another WWII book you will not forget.

The Diamond Eye by Kate Quinn. This is the first book by Kate Quinn that I have read, and I loved it. It is a great book to read in the winter. It is set in Ukraine and Russia during WWII.

We Were the Lucky Ones by Georgia Hunter. I read this WWII book years ago and loved it. It is based on the author’s family’s story.

The Librarian Spy by Madeline Martin. This is a WWII story about books and libraries. There are so many great deals on WWII books!

A Tree Grows In Brooklyn by Betty Smith. Published in 1943, this book is still a favorite today. This classic is a great price right now.

I am unsure how long these prices will last, so get them while you can.
