If you love to read the Psalms In The Lord I Take Refuge by Dane Ortlund is a wonderful book of daily devotions through the book of Psalms.
When I was thinking about what book to feature for Sunday Reading this month, I instantly thought of In The Lord I Take Refuge by Dane C. Ortlund.
It might seem like a strange time of year to feature a daily devotional, but this devotional is a little different. It is one hundred and fifty daily devotions through the book of Psalms and it is easy to start any time of year.
I started In the Lord I Take Refuge and slowly read it over the course of several months.
This devotional takes you through the Psalms day by day. Each day is a new Psalm. It covers one hundred and fifty days because there are one hundred and fifty Psalms.
For each Psalm, Dane Ortland has written a short devotional.
This is not a deep dive into the Psalms. It is a quiet comforting read. Every day you are reminded of God’s greatness and His care and love for His people.
I found it a great daily reminder to turn to Him in times of need. Both in the small things and the big things. And I was reminded daily of God’s love and grace.
This book was the daily reminder I needed on both the easy days and the hard ones.
I have recommended this book to more people than I can count.
It also makes a great gift. I gave it to my mom as a gift and she loved it. I have given it to several other people as gifts as well and they enjoyed it too.
I think In the Lord I Take Refuge would be an excellent gift for a new Christian, someone who is going through a difficult time, someone who is struggling with daily Bible reading, or really anyone that loves the Psalms.
If you are looking for a comforting daily read, I highly suggest this book. I think you will find refuge in the book of Psalms.
