This week I finished two books. I was hoping to get a third one done, but didn’t quite get it finished. The two I did finish were both non-fiction. This makes me feel better about the amount of fiction books I have been reading lately.
I am also happy that I have now read twelve books read for the year. I am still on track to get 100 books read this year.
The Art of Work– This book sat on my Kindle for almost a year before I read it. I wish I had not waited that long to start it. I heard Jeff Goins speak, and met him briefly, several years ago at a conference. I really enjoyed hearing him speak. When I saw his book, The Art of Work, I knew I needed to add it to my reading list. You can read my full review here.
The Residence– I really enjoyed this book. It reminds me of the book Upstairs At the White House, which I also enjoyed. I was afraid that there would be a lot of repeated information in these two books, but it did not feel that way at all. Upstairs At the White House was written by someone that worked at the White House, so it was very personal. The Residence was written by someone that interviewed workers and family members, so it was done from a different perspective. If you love presidential history, but are looking for something on the lighter, easier side, this book is great.
