What I Read February 2025

It is time to share what I read in February of 2025.

February was a good reading month for me. I read nine books. Three nonfiction book and six fiction books.

My goal for 2025 is to read at least three nonfiction books each month—one memoir, one history or true crime type of book, and one Christian book.

I read three nonfiction books in February, but two were memoirs, and one was a Christian book. I had about fifty pages left of a nonfiction book about a hostage situation in the 1980s, but I didn’t finish it in February.

I am sharing a few brief thoughts on each book. You can click on the title for more information and a full review.

Fiction Books

The Beautiful Mystery

The Beautiful Mystery by Louise Penny. This is the eighth book in the Inspector Gamache series. It is set in a monastery in the remote wilderness of Quebec. Although it was not my favorite book in the series, I still enjoyed it.

Fifth Avenue Glamour Girl

Fifth Avenue Glamour Girl by Renee Rosen. This book is based on the life of Estee Lauder, the founder of Estee Lauder Cosmetics. This was a fun read because I knew nothing about Estee Lauder and how she started her company.

Ace Marvel Spy

Ace, Marvel, Spy by Jenni L. Walsh. I really enjoyed this one. It is part WWII history, sports fiction, and spy book. It is a fascinating mix of history, sports, and spies.

Nora Goes Off Script book

Nora Goes Off Script by Annabel Monaghan. This is the first Annabel Monaghan book that I have read. I enjoyed it, although it was more open door than I thought it would be.

My Phony Valentine

My Phony Valentine by Courtney Walsh. After reading Nora Goes Off Script I was looking for a clean romance. My Phony Valentine was exactly that, although it was a bit too Hallmark movie like for me.

My Lucky Charm book review

My Lucky Charm by Courtney Walsh. This is the follow up book to My Phony Valentine. It was another quick, fun read, but I wish clean romance books had more depth.

Nonfiction

The House of My Mother book

The House of My Mother by Shari Franke. If you like memoirs that take you on a wild ride, this is a good one.

I think this book is an important one for online influencers to read. Shari shares so much about living with a mom who shared a “perfect” life online with her followers.

Food For Thought book

Food For Thought by Alton Brown. I love to read memoirs and I love to cook, so this book was the perfect combination for me. If you love Alton Brown and his style and humor, I think you will enjoy this one.

Christian Nonfiction

People Pleaser book

People Pleaser by Jinger Duggar Vuolo. This is Jinger’s story of trying to overcome being a people-pleaser. Many people, including Christians, struggle with this. This book was a good reminder not to be a people-pleaser. It isn’t deep theology; it is Jinger sharing her story.
