This list of books for guys is also known as what my husband is reading. These posts are where I share a list of the books that my husband has recently read and enjoyed.
The book blogging and social media worlds are full of viewpoints from women, so it is fun to occasionally share what my husband is reading.
My books for guys posts have become reader favorites.
My husband did not read as much as normal in 2022, so it has been a while since I shared a list of what he has read.
This is not a complete list of what he has read recently, but it is some of his favorites from the last few months.
My husband is a big nonfiction reader. He reads a lot of history, true crime, science, biographies, and theology-type books.
These lists are not really just for guys though, they are for anyone that loves nonfiction.
I have read three out of the five books on his list. That means these books are not just books for guys. Yes, guys will enjoy them, but so will anyone that loves nonfiction.
Books For Guys aka What My Husband Is Reading
Empire of Pain by Pattrick Radden Keefe. You can tell my husband enjoyed this book by the number of book darts and sticky notes in it. This is the story of the Sackler family and how they changed medicine and medical ethics. My husband has recommended this book to so many people, especially those in the medical field. It is a fascinating and important read.
Facing the Mountain by Daniel James Brown. I read this book in print, but my husband listened to it on audio. We both loved it. It is the true story of Japanese Americans during WWII. A quote from the book sums up the book well. “Rarely has a nation been so well served by a people it has so ill-served.”
The Feather Thief by Kirk Wallace Johnson. True crime meets odd history and science and wildlife in this amazing read. I read this and instantly handed it to my husband to read. He read it and then recommended it to numerous friends and family. This book makes feathers and fly fishing fascinating.
Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe. My husband picked up this true crime murder story at a bookstore we visited. He said it was a great read. Or as great as a true crime murder book can be. He loved it, but he did say it was probably a bit graphic and gory for me. So, if you like true crime murder you will probably enjoy this one. If you avoid graphic crime stories you might want to skip this one.
As You Wish by Cary Elwes. This is the book about the making of The Princess Bride. My husband listened to this on audio and loved it. That is probably because he loves The Princess Bride movie. If you love The Princess Bride movie you will probably love this book.
