Anyone else having a crazy spring? When you have kids, I think spring is always crazy busy. All kinds of end of the year stuff happens even when you homeschool. Add on to that, we had a family member in the hospital a few weeks ago and on to that regular life stuff and reading has taken a backseat the last few weeks.
Actually I haven’t had much of a reading life the last month or so, which is why I haven’t shared a what I am reading update for quite a few weeks. Six weeks to be exact.
Today, I am catching up and sharing the six books I have read in the last six weeks. I know six books is still a pretty good list for some, but it is not what I need to reach my goal of 100 books this year. Hopefully this summer I can make up for the last few weeks of reading.
Here is what I have read. The links below are affiliate links. Thanks for supporting this site and what we do.
Katharina and Martin Luther– This book was very interesting and I really enjoyed it. I have read several books on Martin Luther, but none of them focused on his personal life. I love reading books that help me learn about a person, who I already know about, in a new way. This book did just that. Writing a book about the lives of two people that lived 500 years ago is not an easy task, yet the author does a great job of keeping it informing and interesting.
Craving Grace– I picked this book up when it was on clearance at a local bookstore. It has been in my reading pile for awhile and I finally read it. This book was not my favorite. The main reason was the layout of the chapters. It went back and forth in time. It would have a chapter or two from three winters ago and then a chapter from the year it was written. It just didn’t seem to flow well. I also thought that the book ended kind of abruptly. I would have liked a little more to finish it off better. It was an ok read, but not a great one for me. I know others love this book, so I think it just wasn’t for me.
A Death In the Small Hours– This is the sixth book in my new favorite mystery series. I love these books and this one was no different.
Out To Canaan-This is the fourth book in the Mitford series. I have enjoyed this series so far. This one wasn’t my favorite of the series, but it was still a good book. I look forward to reading more in this series.
No Way Up and Long Time Gone– Both of these books are part of the Cimarron Legacy series. They were fun mindless romance type books with a little mystery and fun mixed in. I read both of these books fast. I think each book took me about a day to read.
