I hope you had a great weekend!
My husband and I enjoyed a few days relaxing in the Ozark Mountains. We did lots of hiking and walking, even though the weather was crazy hot. We also did lots of reading.
I finished three books and got almost halfway through two others. That means my September reading is off to a great start.

But before we move on to what I am reading in September, I need to share my August reads. Since I was on vacation for a few days, I am a little late sharing them, but I read some great books, especially in nonfiction, in August.
August Reading
Fiction

Without a Clue by Melissa Ferguson is a fun rom-com that mixes writers on a cruise, a mystery, and, of course, a love story.

Brighter Than Before by Courtney Walsh is Courtney Walsh’s latest book that was released in June. I think fans of Courtney Walsh will enjoy this one.

The Ladies Hall by Venassa Miller is a post-Civil War historical fiction book set in Ohio. This was the book I picked for Ohio for my fiction books for every state challenge. I enjoyed this book, but I have a lot of thoughts about it.

The Royal Librarian by Daisy Wood is a work of historical fiction set mainly at Windsor Castle during WWII.
Nonfiction

London Falling by Patrick Radden Keefe will make my list of favorite nonfiction books of 2026. It is a true crime book about a death in London in 2019. I learned so much about London and the history of London’s crime world.
Audiobooks

The Power to Commit by Shawn Johnson and Andrew East was great on audio because Shawn Johnson and Andrew East narrated it. If you are not familiar with the authors, Shawn Johnson is an Olympic gold-medal gymnast, and Andrew East was an NFL player. They share stories of lessons they have learned about commitment, along with scientific studies on its importance.
