Book Review of
Famous For A Living
Lynn's Review
Famous For A Living by Melissa Ferguson is a rom-com that was published in 2023.
Melissa Ferguson is becoming one of my favorite authors of clean romance. I read my first book by her earlier this year, and I am slowly working my way through all her books.
Famous for A Living follows Cat, an influencer who lives in New York. Her business partner is accused of financial crimes, and Cat’s life falls apart. Her life and work as an influencer are almost impossible when no one wants to work with you or have you promote their products.
Cat leaves New York to take a job working on social media for the National Park where her uncle works.
The problem is that Cat is used to big-city life, and the National Park is in the middle of nowhere, Montana.
While in Montana, though, she realizes that her life as an influencer has made her lose touch with who she really is and what is important in life.
Part of what made her realize she wants more is Zaiah, the park ranger who works with her uncle and hates all things social media.
I loved this book. Yes, it was a bit unrealistic and cheesy, but it also addressed the current trends among influencers and how social media can easily take over your life.
Cat learns that social media can be useful if used in the right way.
Famous For a Living had a modern-day storyline that had romance, but with depth.
In ten years, it may not hold up to the test of time, because it is very much our modern, social media-influencer-driven world, but if you like clean romance, it is the perfect read for right now.
