Seeking Persephone by Sarah M. Eden book review

Sarah M. Eden is one of my go-to authors when I need to read a comfort read or a quick, easy clean romance.

Seeking Persephone is a Beauty and the Beast retelling, but you don’t have to love Beauty and the Beast to enjoy this book. Seeking Persephone is a great book for fans of clean romance or Regency romance.

The moody and intimidating Duke of Kielder proposes marriage to Persephone Lancaster. Marrying the Duke of Kielder will solve her family’s financial struggles. The problem is Persephone has never met the Duke of Kielder.

To save her family, she marries him and moves to his castle in Northumberland.

Can she break through his hard exterior? And can he learn to love, trust, and care for someone?

I watched the four-part series Seeking Persephone, which is great for fans of Jane Austen movies, and instantly decided I had to read the book it was based on.

I loved the movie, but I think I enjoyed the book even more.

Yes, it was a bit cheesy and predictable, but the characters had depth, and I enjoyed the lessons they learned as they turned a marriage of convenience into a marriage of love.
