Book Review of
Summerhaven
As children, Hannah Kent and Oliver Jennings pledged their love to each other. Years later, Hannah is thrilled to receive an invitation to spend time at Oliver’s family’s estate.
From the moment Hannah arrives, though, nothing goes as she expected. Oliver seems disinterested, and Damon, Oliver’s older brother, is not the brutish boy she remembered. She loathed Damon her whole life, but when he contrives a ruse designed to win them both, Hannah agrees.
All she has to do to get Oliver to pay attention to her is pretend she is in love with Damon. Damon, though, is surprisingly convincing in his role as a suitor, and she finds it difficult to discern the line between pretense and true love
Lynn's Review
Summerhaven by Tiffany Odekirk is a clean Regency romance book published in 2022.
After reading Winterset by Tiffany Odekirk, I also wanted to read Summerhaven so I could learn the first part of Oliver’s story.
Summerhaven is the story of Oliver and his brother Damon, and their childhood friend Hannah. Damon is the oldest brother and heir to the title and estate. Oliver if the second son, which means he will inherit very little.
Hannah’s mother was the good friend of Oliver and Damon’s mother. She grew up spending summers at Summerhaven. After her mother’s death, she returns to Summerhaven and realizes so much has changed, including Oliver and Damon.
Hannah and Oliver were best of friends growing up, but as they grew older they grew apart. Damon and Hannah never seemed to get along, but is there more to what Damon really thought of Hannah?
I enjoyed this for a quick fun read. This is another one that I gave four stars for a clean romance read.
