Book Summary:

The Last Change Library was published in 2021.

June Jones is a lonely librarian who has never left the English village where she grew up. She is shy and reclusive, and at thirty years old she would rather spend her time buried in books than in the world.

However, when her library is threatened with closure, June is forced to emerge to save the place she loves, which holds her mother’s memoirs.

She joins a group of dedicated locals in a campaign to keep the library. It just happens that her old friend, Alex Chen, is back and willing to lend a hand.

To save the place and the books that mean so much to her, June must make some changes to her life.

Lynn's Review

The Last Chance Library book

I received The Last Chance Library by Freya Sampson as part of my Shelf Subscription from The Bookshelf in Thomasville, GA. I have bought the Nancy/Susie subscription since it began. I love getting the books each month.

The Last Chance Library is set in a small village in England. A librarian and a group of local residents band together to save their library. But this book is about more than saving a library. It is about family, love, life after trauma, and more.

If you love books about books or books set in England, you will probably enjoy this one. I think it also fits the category of books that read like a Hallmark movie.

I liked it, but it felt a lot like a few other books that I have read. It was a fun, quick read that I think would be good for summer.
