The Last Green Valley by Mark Sullivan is a book about courage, endurance, determination, and strength amidst war and unimaginable tragedy. This is a book I will be thinking about for a long time.

I had heard about this book, but finally picked it up after hearing Meagan’s Book Club review of it. She loved it and her review convinced me to read it.

If you want to know part of the history of Ukraine and Russia this is a must read historical fiction book. The main characters of the book and the main timeline are set in 1944, but it goes back in time to what they lived through before WWII.

It is based on true events and a real family who survived what few people did. It is a little known part of history that more people need to know about. This book will probably be one of my favorite books of the year.
