Book Review of
The Master Craftsman
The Master Craftsman by Kelli Stuart is set in 1917. It is part mystery, part romance, and part Russian history.
It takes you inside the world of a master craftsman in the House of Fabergé, who was charged to protect one of the greatest Russian secrets of an unknown Fabergé Egg that was secretly created to honor both the people of Russia and the Imperial tsar’s family.
When Alma and her husband escaped Russia for their native Finland in 1921, she took the secret with her, guarding her past connection to the Romanov family.
Three generations later, Nick Laine, a treasure hunter, is sick and fears the secret of the missing egg will die when he does, so he entrusts the mission of finding the egg to his estranged daughter, Ava.
Lynn's Review
The Master Craftsman by was an interesting read about Faberge eggs and life during the Romanovs in Russia. This is one of the books that I featured in my list of books about Russia and Ukraine.
The Master Craftsman is a clean historical fiction book, but it took me to a time and place I knew very little about.
I was fascinated by the subject of Faberge eggs, and I now want to read more about them and that period in Russia. Wanting to know more about the topic is one of the ways I know it was a great historical fiction read for me.
