Book Summary:

The Oysterville Sewing Circle by Susan Wiggs was published in 2019.

At the crack of dawn, Caroline Shelby rolls into Oysterville, Washington, a tiny hamlet at the edge of the raging Pacific.

She’s come home to a place she thought she’d left forever. It is the home of her heart and memories, but not her future.

Ten years ago, Caroline launched a career in the glamorous fashion world of Manhattan. But her success in New York came to the end on a wave of scandal and tragedy, forcing her to flee to the only safe place she knows.

And in the backseat of Caroline’s car are two children who were orphaned in a single chilling moment, and she is now the legal guardian of them.

But the Oysterville she left behind has changed. Her siblings have their own complicated lives. Her aging parents are hoping to pass on their thriving seafood restaurant to the next generation. Then there is Will Jensen, who has been Caroline’s friend for years and is a decorated Navy SEAL who’s also returned home after being wounded overseas.

Can Caroline start a new life in Oysteryville?

Lynn's Review

The Oysterville Sewing Circle

The Oysterville Sewing Circle by Susan Wiggs was published in 2019. It is the second book by Susan Wiggs that I have read. I really enjoy her writing style, although her books are a little more PG-13 than I like.

I loved the Pacific Northwest setting of this book. I am very familiar with the area that the book is set in, and that made it fun for me to read. The book follows the life of a Navy SEAL and a girl who returns to her small beach town in Washington state.

I thought the storyline and character development in this one were good. I loved the setting and the author’s handling of the difficult topics in a true-to-life way.

If you like what many consider a beach read, this is a good one.
