The Welcome Committee of Butternut Creek book review

The Welcome Committee of Butternut Creek by Jane Myers Perrine was published in 2012.

I read somewhere that this book is for fans of The Mitford series by Jan Karon, and I definitely agree with that. It is a perfect book if you are wondering what to read after the Mitford series

This is the first book in a three-book series. I loved this book and plan to read the others.

Butternut Creek’s new minister is welcomed to the community by the widows, also known as Miss Birdie and Mercedes. If you need something done in Butter Creek the widows are the ones to call.

Miss Birdie is determined to fix the new minister up because in her mind all ministers must be married.

This book introduces you to the people who make Butternut Creek what it is. Life is never easy, but community makes it easier.

This is a great book for Mitford fans and those that like cozy fiction, set in small towns. I will say that I found this book to be a little more PG than Mitford because of the topics it deals with, but I would still consider it PG.
