Worth the Read Book Review

Worth the Read by Diana and Kate Cockrell is a young adult book co-written by a mother and daughter.

This was a fun read. Seventeen-year-old Tori and her mom discover a magical book that takes them back in time to the Boston Tea Party. They visit Sam Adams and his family and go on all kinds of adventures.

Tori, who is used to modern times, has trouble adjusting to the clothing, food, language, and culture of the 1700s. As she struggles to adjust you learn all about what the clothes were like, what Sam Adam’s house would have been like, what the food was like, and more.

This book is a fun way to teach kids history using time travel. I loved books like this when I was homeschooling my kids because it teaches history in an interesting yet fun way that captures your attention.

I think this would make a great read-aloud with kids because there would be a lot to discuss.

I hope Diana and Kate Cockrell take us on more adventures through time.

I received a free book to review, but my thoughts and opinions are my own. I really did love the book.
