Holes is the book we are talking about for our latest Book vs Movie.
This is a kids book and somewhat kids movie. I watched the movie before I read the book. I didn’t know there was a book, but since I liked the movie I had pick it up. I recently realized how popular this book was.
The book made it on to the BBC Great Reads list.That means it was at least at one time a very popular book.
The movie was surprisingly very similar to the book. I hadn’t been expecting it to be so close, but they did a very good job.
The main plot was kept, so were the main characters. A few minor things were changed, but nothing that was major enough that it bothered me. I think that is great for kids to watch and read this book.
I like all the characters. I think the book did such a great job of describing the area and the characters that I understood the movie slightly better after I read the book. I think kids will enjoy both versions.
This is one of those cases where I do not think it matters if you read the book or watch the movie first.
