May 2022 Reads

May 2022 ended up being a good reading month for me, especially when it comes to fiction. I had a great fiction reading month.

Stack of books read in May

May Reads

Bluebird Book

Set in Prohibition Canada, Bluebird by Genevieve Graham, took me to a time and place that I knew nothing about. Read my full review of Bluebird here.

Nourished by Lia Huber book

Nourished by Lia Huber was recommended to me by a reader. If you are that reader, thank you! This food memoir was a great recommendation for me. You can read my full review of Nourished here.

Carved In Stone Book

After reading several books with heavy topics I needed something lighter to read. Carved in Stone by Elizabeth Camden was just that. It was the right book at the right time. This book is probably not for everyone though so be sure to read my full review of Carved in Stone here.

The Last Dance of the Debutante

I picked up The Last Dance of the Debutante at Barnes and Noble. It was an impulse buy. I had no idea that Julia Kelly had a new book out. This book was the exact book I needed to read. I started it right away and loved it. My full review includes a video review, so be sure to check it out to see why I loved this book.

The Compton Cowboys

I wanted to love The Compton Cowboys but I ended up with mixed thoughts on this one so be sure to read my full review of The Compton Cowboys.

The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie

Quite a few readers have recommended The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley to me and I finally picked it up to read. I am so glad that I did. This was a great recommendation for me. I can’t wait to read more in this series. You can read my full review of The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie here.

My Southern Journey

I listen to My Southern Journey by Rick Bragg on audio and really enjoyed it. If you love Rick Bragg’s writing I think you will enjoy this one. It is essay style so it would be an easy book to pick up and down as you had time. Since Rick Bragg narrated it, the audio was really good. You can read my full review of My Southern Journey here.

  1. I’m reading Minding the Manor by Mollie Moran. I’m listening to the audiobook—it is delightful! Highly recommend! 😃

    • I have her book Aprons and Silver Spoons, which I think is a different edition of Minding the Manor, or maybe they are two different memoirs by Mollie Moran, either way, I can’t wait to read it. I bought it at a used bookstore a few months ago and need to move it to the top of my TBR stack. I am glad to her that you are enjoying her writing.
