We are continuing our love of independent bookstores with The Island Bookstore in North Carolina.
I recently took a trip to visit a friend, and we took a few days to go to the Outer Banks. It was my first time seeing the Atlantic Ocean. I loved it, but I also loved visiting a few shops in the Outer Banks.
One stop I made was The Island Bookstore in Duck, North Carolina.
It was quaint and was located back among other small shops and restaurants.
It had a lot of beach reads for those looking for that.
There was also a nice kids section. My friend found a book about Pelicans that she bought for her granddaughter.
There was also a small section on local stuff if one wants to learn more about the Outer Banks.
The Second Floor
However, the second floor was the treasure as that was where their history section was. There was a variety of topics and unique finds, but there were not a ton of books overall.
My find though was a unique World War II book that I bought along with a postcard to send a friend back home.
Outer Banks Books
I know that there are other bookstores in the Outer Banks area, but I only had so much time. I was happy though that I could visit one local shop and support it by buying an unusual find.
If you visit the Outer Banks, be sure to stop by The Island Bookstore.
