This Week’s Bookshelf

This week, I decided to go old-school with a post called “This Week’s Bookshelf.”

By old school, I mean the old days of the internet and blogging, when we shared random things about everyday life.

As I was looking through the photos on my phone this week, I realized I had taken a lot of bookish pictures that I never shared here or on social media. I didn’t have a post planned for this week, so I thought it would be a great time to share some bookish and nonbookish things from my everyday life.

This Week’s Bookshelf

Entrance to Beach Books Seaside Oregon

I love to visit bookstores on vacation. Last month, when we were visiting my family in Oregon, we stopped by Beach Books, Cannon Beach Book Company, and Juniper Books all on the northern Oregon Coast. We bought a few books, but I would have loved to buy more if we had had more room in our suitcases.

two historical fiction books about royals

I love historical fiction. I have recently been in the mood for historical fiction that isn’t about WWII, so I picked up some historical fictioni books about royals.

I finished The Queen’s Coronation by Jennifer Ryan and immediately picked up Meet Me In Monaco by Hazel Gayor and Heather Webb. Both books have been a nice change from my normal historical fiction reads.

three new books outside

I decided that I needed a mid year reading challenge, so I picked up three new books. I wanted to read some books that I thought I would enjoy, but that would also stretch me outside my reading comfort zone.

I love backlist books, so I don’t read a lot of new releases, but I have never read any of these three authors fiction books. Reading their new releases seemed like a good reading goal. I love character driven books so I am hoping I will enjoy them.

Have you read them? Do they live up to all the hype that I have seen about them? Which one should I start with?

books a million bag of books

A Books-A-Million opened in our area, so I had to stop by this week. I found a few books that I can’t wait to read. I think I might end up liking Books-A-Million better than Barnes and Noble.

two biographies on table

A friend asked me if I had any great biographies she could borrow. I sent her home with Sister, Sinner and The Watchmaker’s Daughter. I hope she enjoys them!

six current reads

These are my current reads. As usual my reading stack is full of a wide range of books.

Like Follow Subscribe Book

I read Like, Follow, Subscribe last month, but I am still thinking about this book. It is one of those books that will stick with me for a long time.

The Martha's Vineyard Beach and Book Club

If you have been wanting to read The Martha’s Vineyard Beach and Book Club or Ina Garten’s Memoir, I added them, plus a few others to my Pango Books shop. If you have not tried Pango Books it is a great way to get great deals on books.

I am slowly cleaning out some of my books and adding them to Pango to sell. Have you ever bought a book from Pango?

books on a black bookshelf

I think it might be fun to do posts like this occasionally. What do you think?
