What I Read In February (Grace)

Teen Reads February

I felt like I had a slow reading month this month. I was able to finish six books which I felt was relatively good. I have several books going right now which may have slowed me down.

True Grit: I really enjoyed this western. Of course, I am a big fan of westerns. I mean what is not to like: romance, fighting, and action. I was glad I picked this book up for an easy read this month. You can read the rest of my review here.

Crime Travelers: I started the second book in this series because I had in on my kindle and I needed something to read. The first book was okay, so I thought I try the second one. I was not a big fan of this book. Its about a group kids who are ironically trying to stop child trafficking. The kids are a bit wild and are always getting into trouble. This book was not very well written to me, but some may like it.

All Things Bright and Beautiful: This was probably my favorite book this month. I love how Herriot was able to spin his tale of his vet career in the 1930s. This is definitely a book for any animal lover.  I am very excited to read his next book in the series. You can read my full review here.

Code Talkers: This was a good historical fiction book for older kids and young teens who enjoy history. The plot is good and there are some good historical facts. I mainly read this book though to see if it was fine for my younger brother to read. I was also kind of in a reading slump this month and this was an easy book to whip through. You can read my full review here.

The Indifferent Stars Above: The story was good, but I did not enjoy it as much as I thought I would. The story is graphic and sad, but it does allow the reader to see how hard it was back in the 1800s on the California and Oregon Trail. You can read my full review here.

A Time to Die: This is another depressing book that does not have a happy ending. I found it interesting though because I cannot remember when this event happen. Nor did I realize how much navy and submarine technology has changed since 2000. You can read my full review here.
