The Baker's Daughter

The Baker’s Daughter by D.E. Stevenson is a fiction book published in 1938.

I love the Miss Buncle books by D.E. Stevenson but have not read any of her other books.

Several readers have recommended that I give some of her other books a try. I wanted a light easy read so I decided to read The Baker’s Daughter.

I liked this book, although I think I prefer the Miss Buncle books. It was a light, fun, read.

Sue, the baker’s daughter in a small village, takes a job as a housekeeper for an artist. This book is not only humorous and fun to read, but it also contains a lot about the human character in general.

It was written in 1938, so some things in the book are very dated, but it still makes a fun clean romantic type of read. I will definitely be reading more books by D.E. Stevenson.
