Book Summary:

In 1940, as the Nazis march toward Paris, American ballerina Lucie Girard buys her favorite bookstore so that the Jewish owners can escape. As Lucie struggles to run the bookstore due to the strict German laws and extremely difficult conditions, she finds a way to aid the war by passing messages between the pages of her books.

Paul Aubrey is a widower who wants to return to the States with his daughter, but the US Army wants him to keep his factory running, so that he can get military information from German customers.

Paul is doing his own work for the resistance by sabotaging his product and hiding British airmen. After Lucie and Paul meet at the bookstore, they are drawn to each other, but  Paul has to win her trust because she thinks he works for the Germans.

Until the Leaves Fall In Paris book review

Until The Leaves Fall In Paris by Sarah Sundin was published in 2022. It is WWII Christian Historical Fiction.

This book is listed as a Christian historical fiction, but I think this is one that anyone could enjoy. Yes, they go to church and there are some religious references in the book, but I didn’t feel like there was a ton in it.

I think part of what makes this labeled as Christian fiction is that it is clean. There is a romance, but it is a clean romance.

I have read several books by Sarah Sundin and I think this was my favorite.

Ballerina Lucie Girard buys her friend’s Paris bookshop in order for the Jewish owners to escape. A widower and his daughter visit her store and their lives will never be the same.

If you like WWII fiction, especially clean fiction, I think you will enjoy this one. The ending seemed a little rushed, but besides that, I enjoyed this one.
