June Reading 2026

I am a little late sharing my June reads because I took some time off for the 4th of July weekend. But I am back from my break with my June reads.

Overall, it was a good reading month. I read three fiction books and three nonfiction books.

Stack of books read in Jue

Two of my reading goals for the year were to read more YA books and listen to more books on audio. I set a goal to read one YA book and listen to at least one audiobook each month.

I did not accomplish that goal in May, but in June I did. Hopefully, I can get back on track so I can read 12 YA books and listen to 12 audiobooks this year.

June Reads 2026

I am sharing a little bit about each book, but you can click on the title for more information and my full review.

Meet Me In Monaco book review

Meet Me In Moaco by Hazel Gaynor and Heather Webb is a historical fiction book that mixes Hollywood, royalty, and normal everyday people.

The Queen's Coronation book review

The Queen’s Coronation by Jennifer Ryan was a fun read because it was about Queen Elizabeth’s coronation, but the Queen was not the star of the book. The book focuses on three women dealing with difficult life situations, managing both their home lives and their jobs working for the Queen.

Nonfiction

Unread book review

Unread by Oliver James is a memoir that I picked up when I was in Oregon visiting my family back in May. I had never heard of Oliver James or this book, but I am so glad I read it. In Unread, Oliver James, who is a TikTok star, shares his story of learning to read as an adult.

Audiobook

Deadly Fashion book review

Deadly Fashion by Kate Parker is a historical mystery series that I am slowly working my way through on audio. I don’t listen to much fiction on audio, but mysteries like this are something I enjoy.

YA

The Family Romanov Book reivew

The Family Romanov by Candace Fleming mixes my love of nonfiction and my goal of reading more YA books. This book covers Russian history from the late 1800s to the early days of WWI. I enjoyed it so much that I am now interested in learning more about Russian history from that period.

Christian Nonfiction

Strong To the End

Strong To the End by David and Alicia Lloyd is the story behind the 2024 news headlines of the two missionaries and their good friend who were killed in Haiti. I have read a lot of books about missionaries over the years, but very few of them have been about modern-day missionaries. This was a good but difficult read about three people who gave their lives serving Christ in Haiti.

      • I hope you don’t mind. I want to mention a special non fiction book. It’s poignant & beautifully written by a British nurse.
        The Story of a Heart
It is not only the story of a very loving family, but it’s also a history of how the ICU came about , emergency care and ventilators. I used to a nurse so I found it hard to put down.
My grandson will be starting medical school next year so I bought it for him.
