What I Read May 2025

It is time to share what I read in May.

Books I read in May 2025

May 2025 was a great reading month for me when it comes to nonfiction. I read four nonfiction books and loved them all.

Nonfiction books take me longer to read, so reading a lot of nonfiction means that my fiction reading slows down.

I don’t mind that, though, because this year I am not focusing on the number of books I read. I am focusing on books that teach me something. 2025 is my year of learning through books. Reading more nonfiction aligns perfectly with that goal.

What I Read May 2025

I am sharing a few thoughts on each book, but you can click on the title of each book for more details and a full review.

Fiction

Heart of the Glen book

Heart of the Glen by Jennifer Deibel is a clean historical romance book. It set on an Irish farm in the early 1900s. This was a quick and easy read.

The Dressmakers of London book

The Dressmakers of London by Julia Kelly is a historical fiction novel set in London during World War II. It is set during the war, but it focuses on two sisters who inherit a dress shop.

One sister has to leave to help in the war effort, while the other has to manage the shop during the rationing period of the war.

Nonfiction

Sister, Sinner by Claire Hoffman book

Sister, Sinners by Claire Hoffman is part biography and part true crime. It also includes a lot of the history of L.A. and Southern California. This was a five star read for me.

Ordinary Time book by Annie B. Jones

Ordinary Time by Annie B. Jones is a memoir in essay form. If you like essay style books or love Annie B. Jones podcast, I think you will enjoy this one.

Be Patient by Tilly Rose book

Be Patient by Tilly Rose is a book about being patient with rare medical conditions. Tilly Rose lives in England, so this book focuses on the medical system in England; however, it is one that anyone with a rare disease will understand.

The last ten years have been long ones for my family when it comes to health issues, and this book made me feel less alone. I had to order this book from Blackwell’s in England, but it was worth it.

Steve Jobs book on Kindle

Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson was a reread for me. I read it over ten years ago, but I think I appreciated it more this time. If you love biographies and haven’t read it, it is a great book about a complicated man.

I would love to hear about what you’ve been reading.
