The Shippers by Katherine Center book review

The Shippers by Katherine Center is Katherine Center’s 2026 summer release.

JoJo is bad at love, but she is hoping to solve that at her sister’s destination wedding on a cruise ship. She decides to focus on her first childhood crush, who is newly divorced and is on the cruise as a wedding guest.

She tries to get her childhood best friend Cooper to help her, but will it backfire on her?

This friends to lovers romance is a fun summer read for fans of Katherine Center.

I discovered Katherine Center when I read her book Bodyguard a few years ago. I have now read five of her books, including her last few summer releases.

I liked The Shippers, but it isn’t my favorite Katherine Center book. It probably ranks fourth or fifth behind Bodyguard, Rom-Commers, and The Love Haters

I think Katherine Center fans will enjoy this one for a fun summer read, but I thought it lacked the depth of characters that her books usually have.

I also found this one a little too unrealistic. So much of what the two main characters did seemed unlikely to actually happen. It was almost too over-the-top to be funny.

I also thought the premise of a wedding cruise where your childhood and neighborhood friends all show up also seemed a bit unrealistic, but maybe that is just because I can’t relate to a world where that happens.

Overall, I am glad I read it. It made for a good vacation read, but it won’t be on my list of Katherine Center favorites.
